Terese Petrone grew up in a very creative and artistic family environment in Northern Sweden.
In 1993, she came to Maui and instantly fell in love with the Hawaiian islands.
The following year, she started apprenticing for D. Duncan in Lahaina to learn the art of flameworking.
She also worked alongside fellow glass artist Jupiter Nielsen, Jennifer Umphress and Sean Price, who all have been great inspiration both personally and professionally.
Since 2001, Terese has been running her own studio from her home in South Maui, creating mostly ocean-inspired sculpure and jewelry.
2011 has been a great year for the Petrone family, since Terese and her two sons are spending a year in her native Sweden.
In September, she finally got her glass studio up and running in Skellefteå, so she can create when visiting there in the future too. |
